The Princess of Wales Theatre, Canon Theatre, Diesel Theatre , and the Royal Alexandra theatre are not very far from the Delta Chelsea hotel.

It's the flagship hotel location for what's Canada's major hotel chain. Its theatre packages and shopping packages make it excellent for shopping, the Eaton Centre and the underground Trail system has lots of fine boutiques and stores, and restaurants .

The Yonge Street strip is known for its eclectic and often weird retail outlets.

The restaurant also overlooks the floor of the skydome and getting reservations during baseball and soccer games and other events might be tricky. If you are starting from the Marriott, you may have a long walk to get downtown.

I've not stayed in many Toronto hotels but in other hotels in the country I dont think there was a charge for local calls–except at one hotel in Vancouver where it was stated in bold letters on the phone. Perhaps if you can include the other things that just weren't up to par(i.e. dirty microwave). Good luck with it and keep me posted. You could also cc a letter to their head office!
